Belgium is beautiful. First stop Ypres, or Ieper, to see the Menin Gate. The Menin Gate is a memorial to those British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed in the various battles of Ypres, and whose graves are unknown. Each day, at 8pm, the last post is played, and this service has taken place every day since the end of World War I, except when the Germans occupied the town again in World War II.
Leuven is a University town. The architecture of the Town Hall, and St Peter's Church, is quite spectacular, as is the University Library.
